Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember information about your visit. Similar technologies, such as localStorage, store preferences locally in your browser. This Policy explains which cookies and local storage DA.N uses, why, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
We group what we use into two categories: strictly necessary (always on, required to run the Service) and analytics (optional, loaded only with your consent). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the Service to function — for example to keep you signed in and to remember your cookie choice. They do not require consent under the ePrivacy rules and cannot be disabled while you use the Service.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| authjs.session-token | Authentication session | 30 days |
| dan_cookie_consent | Your cookie preference (“all” or “essential”) | 1 year |
2.2 Preference Storage
These items store your UI preferences locally. They are not sent to our servers.
| Storage Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| dan-theme-mode (localStorage) | Dark or light theme preference | Persistent |
| dan-theme-color (localStorage) | Accent color preference | Persistent |
2.3 Analytics Cookies (Optional — Opt-In)
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site and improve the Service. These scripts are only loaded if you explicitly click “Accept all” in our cookie banner. If you choose “Essential only”, no analytics scripts are loaded and no data is sent to Google.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics — distinguish unique users | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 — session state | 2 years |
| _gid | Google Analytics — distinguish users | 24 hours |
These cookies are set by Google, not by us. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
3. Consent Model
We use a prior opt-in model for analytics: no analytics cookies are set and no Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics 4 script is loaded until you actively give consent. Strictly necessary cookies are used regardless, because the Service cannot work without them.
On your first visit we show a cookie banner with two clear choices:
- Accept all — enables analytics (Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics 4) in addition to the necessary cookies. Your choice is saved in the
dan_cookie_consentcookie with the valueall. - Essential only — only strictly necessary cookies are used; no analytics scripts are loaded and no data is sent to Google. Your choice is saved as
essential.
Both options carry equal weight, and declining analytics does not reduce the functionality available to you.
4. Managing & Withdrawing Consent
Your choice is remembered for 1 year. You can change or withdraw it at any time by clearing the dan_cookie_consent cookie in your browser settings (or by clearing this site's data); the banner will then reappear on your next visit and you can choose again. Withdrawing consent stops further analytics collection but does not affect data already collected while consent was in place.
You can also control cookies directly in your browser — block or delete them through its settings or developer tools. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and using core features. Items stored in localStorage (your theme and accent-colour preferences) are not sent to our servers and can be cleared by clearing site data.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties rather than by us:
- Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) — only after you click “Accept all”; used for aggregate usage analytics. Google Privacy Policy
- Google Sign-In — if you authenticate with Google, Google may set cookies during sign-in. Google Privacy Policy
- Stripe — if you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe may set cookies to process payments and prevent fraud. Stripe Privacy Policy
We do not control third-party cookies; please review the respective providers' policies for details on their retention and use.
6. Retention
Cookie lifetimes are listed in the tables above — for example the consent cookie lasts 1 year, the session cookie up to 30 days, and Google Analytics cookies up to 2 years (set by Google). When a cookie expires or is deleted, it is removed from your device; analytics cookies are only renewed while your consent remains in place.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version; please check this page periodically for changes.
